As has been pointed out on various sites, the US App Store is now online (although you can’t yet buy things). I tried getting in while using my French account (tied to the France iTunes store) and was told to go away. But I can happily browse the US store in the meantime.
I just hope that Apple will not restrict access to the App Store while waiting on the July 17 iPhone 3G release in France.
BrowsingWhoo boy - there’s a pile ‘o applications out there. I predict an avalanche of product reviews coming out soon. This is going to be insane over the next few weeks. Prepare yourself for information overload and a lot of complaints about battery life on the new model since people aren’t going to get a chance to turn them off while they check out all of the new cool things that they can do.
Better batteriesI think the best point came from a french article I read this morning. The battery life is actually quite good as long as you use it as a phone. The problem is that it does everything so well, that you want to use it constantly. I predict a huge boost in sales for the Mophie and FastMac battery extensions as soon as they get the tooling setup for the 3G form factor.

PhoneSaber (couldn’t resist)
And that list is just after a really fast spin through the catalog.
**Organisers galore!**I knew this was coming but I admit to still being surprised by the sheer number of To Do/List Managers available. Now we need to wait and see the consensus of reviews regarding the usability of efficiency of each. Some folks really have their work cut out for them in the coming weeks. In almost all categories there are a number of duplicates so the battle of apps will begin shortly.
